Wonder Wander: Relax, Reset, Reconnect & Replenish

Wake up. Don’t die wondering. Reset your system. Get back to source. Replenish your soul. Make new friends along the way. This is ‘Camino’.

About this event

The basic premise.

To wonder(noun); a desire to know something; feel curious.

To wander (verb); walk in a leisurely way; move slowly away from a fixed point or place.

To ‘Wonder Wander’; an invitation to step out of your busy life, slow down, unplug, listen, get curious, get moving, soothe your soul, calm your mind and get reconnected with yourself and what’s really important.

The idea.

Come join me (Ryan James, transformational ‘life’ and business coach, experienced workshop facilitator and lover of the great outdoors), on Sunday 5th June from 10am – 6pm for my next long overdue We Won’t Die Wondering ‘Wonder Wander’…

This being 3 days before I set off on my next epic Camino de Santiago pilgrimage adventure, this is an invitation to go on a mini ‘Camino’ right where you are and in doing so, reconnect with nature and your natural rhythm, reset your system and make new friends in a supportive community of likeminded people all looking to set new intentions for new adventures!

The event.

Wonder Wander: Relax, Reset, Reconnect & Replenish.

Walking in a loop from Coaley Peak viewing point, we’ll bathe in sumptuous woodland your nervous system will naturally find a comfort; take in vast panoramic views that your mind will want to stare at for hours; encounter coarse common land you’ll want to run free across; delight in glorious, lush rolling hills that will make you smile from the inside out; and take in the kind of gorgeous wild lake you won’t be able to help yourself but plunge right in, to thoroughly reset your system and rekindle your sense of adventure… Trust me, this route is a BEAUTY!!!

And just like going on ‘Camino’, what better way to enjoy it than in the community of likeminded souls you might consider strangers before you start but might yet find become your new friends for life before you leave, as we collectively agree to ‘catch’ each other as we go.

This will be no ordinary walk out in nature.

Come rain or shine, this is an invitation to let your mind, body and soul wonder and wander in whatever ways feel right for you in that moment, in the here and now, and in your life in general.

This is an opportunity to relax, reset, reconnect and replenish your soul in the true spirit of Camino, right where we are and make some new friends along ‘the Way’ as we go.

The practical stuff – What to expect.

We will meet in the Coaley Peak car park at 10am.

We’ll say hello, connect with each other, design our ‘alliance’ together and get walking by 10.30am.

We’ll walk across fields, through woods, across coarse common land and along well defined tracks and trails. I hope for sunshine but anticipate mud nonetheless! This is England after all.

We will walk approximately 8miles in total. It is not a strenuous walk but there are plenty of up and down hill stretches nonetheless. You will need to be moderately fit to do this walk.

You will need to bring your own pack lunch and at least one litre of water as there are NO places to stop for food or supplies on route albeit there is a natural spring to top up your water.

We will cap numbers to 12 people, focusing on quality over quantity. Anyone is welcome.

We will encourage you to switch off your phone for the day.

The walk itself shouldn’t take any longer than 3.5hours. Extra time is allocated for breaks, a lunch stop, a few group exercises as we go and a highly likely dip in Woodchester lake!

The practical stuff – What to bring.

Walking boots or sturdy footwear with good grip, and ideally ankle support.

Waterproof over-trousers and water-proof jacket.

A spare warm layer for stops.

Your own packed lunch, snacks and fluids (1.0 litres minimum).

You may want to bring a flask of something warm. Or possibly something cold and refreshing that you could chill in the lake and drink in the sun, as pictured below!

Swimming shorts/costume & towel.

Notebook and pen may be useful (inside a plastic bag).

Personal medication as required.

Small rucksack with waterproof bags to keep contents dry.

The price

£30 per person.

Disclaimer: Whilst I will take every precaution to ensure your safety on this walk, I am not a qualified guide nor insured to take you out on group adventures. You do so therefore at your own risk including taking a swim in the lake at Woodchester, should you wish to do so.

Also, whilst I invite anyone that has knowingly tested positive for COVID to not attend this event, no other precautions will be taken to account for COVID and therefore suggest that you do not attend this event if you are at all concerned about being socially distanced in a group dynamic.
